MY VIEWS ON THE ENTRANCE TEST

Saba Asghar (KEMU 2007-12)

Assalam O Aleikum!

I’m SABA ASGHAR studying in KEMU 1st year. I scored 1026/1100 in entrance test   2007 and have got the chance of sharing my experience with all you ambitious people out there.

In my views ET is a 2 hours game that’s going to decide your future… a game of confidence…   concepts… nerve control and learning power.  Although carrying a weight age of 30% only, it still can make or mar your future. But at the same time it’s not too tough to get through…. In fact, the entrance test I gave in 2007 was not tough at all. I thought some real good student might have attempted it all right (100%).

People used to say so many things to frighten……BUHT MUSHKIL HOTA HE… ITNAY ITNAY MARKS LENE WALAY BUCHAY REH JATAY HEN… etc etc… but there wasn’t anything like that… it was a simple straight forwrd test… and about the different academies I would say it’s your personal choice. All what they do is they make you practice a lot of MCQs… I joined it. If you don’t want to, doesn’t matter. I have some few suggestions for you:

Your text syllabus is your bible........!

No need to loiter for extra helping stuff…

BIOLOGY:

READ AGAIN &AGAIN & AGAIN… Do read the details but don’t get indulged in them so much that you forget the basics. For e.g. don’t ponder over an organism’s structure so much that you forget its phylum n class.

Some questions are straight forward… ON WHICH CHROMOSOME ARE GENES FOR BLOOD GROUP IS LOCATED… others are a little tricky… WHAT IS THE TOTAL LUNG CAPACITY…? ANSWER IS 5 LITERS BUT THAT WAS NOT IN THE OPTIONS… 5000ml WAS THERE WHICH WAS THE CORRECT ONE… so be careful while answering…

CHEMISTRY:

Laws, their applications and related short numericals are very imp. Questions asked were mostly basic… trends in periodic table… reactivity of elements… peculiarities of elements. Study with concentration, make concepts, learn, practice and you will do well INSHALLAH!!!!

PHYSICS:

My all time favorite subject, but most threatening to the students because of the numerical type questions. Follow these steps to solve a numerical:

A] What have been told in the question

B] What has been asked in the question

C] Which formula to use

D] Do I need to mould the formula?

E] Which is the shortest way of getting at my answer…?

Don’t waste your time on a single question… leave it… but don’t leave a question for confirmation after getting at an answer… attempt it the very moment…

ENGLISH:

The smallest section carrying 30 questions only, but; if not well attempted, can affect your performance badly. First learn the rules of grammar and analysis, then practice sentences from text book. For vocabulary sections don’t miss the glossaries given at the end of each lesson of your text book…

That was all I guess. Do solve some sample papers in the set time with the required style. It will be creditable on your part.

BEST OF LUCK… AND DON’T WORRY AT ALL CUZ

If you can dream it, you can do it.......!
